Rijeka Gateway has selected CONROO’s digital truck visit solution to enable fully paperless and smartphone-based truck handling at its new container terminal. The implementation marks a significant step toward modernizing landside terminal operations and integrating truck drivers directly into digital terminal processes.
Traditional pre-gates, plastic access cards, and manual document checks are replaced by a mobile-first workflow. All truck interactions with the terminal are managed digitally via the CONROO app, enabling real-time coordination and contactless access.
Using the CONROO app, truck drivers receive all relevant information for their terminal visit directly on their smartphones. This includes container data, digital access credentials, and clear instructions for entering and navigating the terminal.
Upon arrival, drivers can access the terminal without stopping at a pre-gate or presenting physical documents. Access is granted digitally, and drivers are guided to their assigned yard positions via the app. Throughout the terminal visit, instructions and updates are delivered directly to the driver’s mobile device.
This approach turns the smartphone into the central interface for terminal visits, reducing waiting times and eliminating manual interactions at the gate.
Rijeka Gateway is being developed as a highly automated and remotely operated terminal. CONROO’s digital truck handling solution complements this setup by ensuring that landside processes are fully aligned with the terminal’s advanced yard equipment and control systems.
By digitizing truck arrivals, access control, and on-yard coordination, the solution supports smoother traffic flow, improved safety, and more predictable terminal operations.

By removing paper-based procedures and physical access media, the solution also improves operational reliability and supports a safer, more controlled yard environment.
